We at Church of the Vine, under the leadership of The Diocese of Churches for the Sake of Others, uphold Safe Church standards to ensure that our gatherings protect the physical, spiritual, and emotional safety of all who attend or visit.

how does church of the vine operate as a safe church?

Under C4SO’s Safe Church Training policy, we maintain the following measures:

  1. Child and Youth Protection

    • All volunteers who work with our children and youth must complete a screening and training process, along with constant monitoring by Church of the Vine’s staff and clergy. Training is updated every two years.

    • For more information on the Child and Youth Protection Policy, please visit this page on C4SO’s Website

  2. Sexual Harassment Prevention

    • All volunteers of any sort in the church, including clergy, must take a Sexual Harassment Prevention training. Training is updated each year.

    • For more information on the Sexual Harassment Prevention Policy, please visit this page on C4SO’s Website

  3. Whistleblower Policy

    1. Anyone who observes or experiences sexual harassment or any kind of malpractice in a church environment can and should report it.

    2. All reports of harassment will be handled by the Rev. Canon Kimberley Pfeiler, our diocesan Ombudsman. All reporting goes straight to Canon Kimberley, who will then enact the necessary steps to address the offense

    3. For more information on the Whistleblower Policy, please visit this page of C4SO’s website

We must hold one another accountable to care for the least of these, as we seek to live out our Kingdom mission for the sake of others.
